Join us for the One County, One Book (OCOB) 2023 Author Program.
Come and listen to Javier Zamora, author of Solito, this year's OCOB selection.
The moderator for the program will be Brian J. Varela, Oxnard communities reporter with the Ventura County Star.
Brian J. Varela was born and raised in Ventura County. He graduated with an associate degree from Moorpark College and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Cal State Long Beach.
Brian reports on the cities of Oxnard, Port Hueneme, and Camarillo for the Ventura County Star. Prior to joining The Star, he served as the sole reporter at a small, weekly newspaper on an island in Alaska.
When he isn’t reporting, Brian can be found reading classic and science fiction novels and listening to vinyl albums.
