- When did the H.P. Wright library close?
The Wright Library officially closed at 8pm on Monday, November 30, 2009. - Why did Wright library close?
After the failure of the general tax measure (Measure A) on November 3, 2009, the City of Ventura determined it did not have the money to keep this library open. - What will happen to my requests?
Materials requested will be delivered to the E.P. Foster Library in downtown Ventura unless otherwise indicated by the patron at the time of the request.. - Will the collection still be available?
During the period of consolidation, some Wright Library materials will not be available in the library’s online catalog. - Will there be storytimes?
There are storytimes at the Foster Library in downtown Ventura. Check the Library System website www.vencolibrary.org or the Ventura Libraries' Event Calendar for more information. - Where can I return my library items?
There is one bookdrop at Wright Library. Patrons are encouraged to also use the bookdrops at any other Ventura County Library. - Will I need to reregister as a patron of the Foster Library?
No. Wright and Foster Libraries are both part of the Ventura County Library. - Where is my new “home” library?
Wright Library patrons will be reassigned to the Foster Library location. You may request that your home library be any of the other libraries in the Ventura County Library system that is most convenient for you.
