- 52 computers are available for public Internet use.
Computers are filtered for use by customers under 18. Printing is available by purchasing a print card.
- Word processing is available on the public Internet computers.
- Self-serve copy machines and microfilm reader/printers are
available. Copies are ten cents each.
- Camarillo Library is a site for the Adult Literacy Program. Students are
matched with volunteer tutors who help them improve reading, writing and spelling

- Camarillo Library's Esper A. Petersen Foundation Study Center is available for students Monday through Thursdays, 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Click here to see locations and times for all Ventura County Library Homework Centers.

Events
- Children’s & Young Adult Programs - May 2008

- Evening storytimes at 7:00 pm every Tuesday.
- Esper A. Petersen Foundation Homework Center for students K-8 grades will
open Monday through Thursday, 3 pm to 5 pm, during the school year (except winter and spring breaks).
- Camarillo Teen Writer's Fantasy/Science Fiction Club meets every Wednesday, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to come to share their work. Positive feedback will help writers fine tune their stories or poems. We meet at the couches in the foyer of the library, then move to the library's Conference Room. We take no breaks... ever!
- The Camarillo Teen Advisory Board meets the first Tuesday of each month during the school year from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the library's Community Room. Teens, ages 12-18, plan and sponsor teen events at the library. Teens receive community service hours participating in this program. Light refreshments are served.
- PAWS For Reading; every Monday 3:30 - 4:30 pm, read aloud to registered therapy dogs: to sign up (required) and for info., call 388-5288
- Drop in Computer Help - Wednesdays 2-3pm - 2nd floor Technology Room - assistance with basic questions on computer use.
- Computer Training Lab Classes - Student/Adult Online Library Research, Library Catalog and Basic Internet.

- Camarillo Library Book Club meets on the second Tuesday morning of each
month at 11:00 AM.
- The Camarillo Library is a site for the Adult
Literacy Program. Students who are at least 18 years old and who speak
English, are matched with volunteer tutors who help them improve reading,
writing and spelling skills. Barbara Warrington, the on-site supervisor, is
usually available Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. She can be
phoned at 383-5689.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Friends of the Camarillo Library Bookstore is located adjacent to the Camarillo Library. It is open 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Saturday. Their phone number is 388-5275.
- Volunteers may be needed in the following areas:
storytelling
shelving
mending
tutoring in the Homework Center
special projects
and, assisting customers with the Internet.

- Volunteer tutors are needed for the Adult
Literacy Program. Students are tutored on-site at the Library.
Collections
- There are over 150 magazines subscriptions available at the Library such
as, Consumer Reports, Value Line, National Geographic,
and children's magazines.
- The Library has the Camarillo Daily News from 1926-1993, the Camarillo
Star from 1994 to the present, and the Los Angeles Times from 1983
to the present.
- Camarillo Library has audio books, music on CDs, books on CDs, videos, DVDs
and CD-Roms.
- Materials in world languages include Spanish, Chinese, Korean and French.
- Large print books, Braille cassettes and DVS video films are available for
those who are blind or have impaired vision.
