What is STEAM?

STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.  Many of our Ventura County Library classes and events explore STEAM subjects.

Makerspaces

Makerspaces are learning environments where communities of new and experienced tinkerers can explore skills, discover innovations and connect with others using emerging technologies and traditional tools.

Makerspaces are a trend for public libraries and have been around as long as people have been sharing ideas and making things together. The goal is to broaden the library’s scope of service so that our impact is both meaningful and relevant for our customers.
