Brian Balke, a certified hypnotherapist, visits the Ray D. Prueter Library on Saturday, March 16th at 1pm to deliver a presentation entitled Sleep, Dreams, and Change.  The presentation covers what researchers and therapists are learning about how we can better manage our most important asset: a healthy mind.

Mr. Balke is a local resident whose passion for empowering others has been a driving concern in each of his five careers.  In studying management, psychology, theology, and social theories, he felt explanations are confusing for why we do what we do.  Ironically, he found clarity in hypnotherapy – a discipline popularly understood to be designed to confuse people

What’s really important is: we can change our behavior.  In three short segments. Mr. Balke will blend the hypnotist’s view of behavior change with the benefits of sleep to convince the audience 1) to sleep longer and 2) to turn to dreams for their late-night entertainment!  Following each segment those in attendance are invited to share their experiences.

This event is free and open to the public.  For additional information, contact Bernadette McDowell, Regional Librarian, at 805-486-5460.
