Inside each Ventura County Library location, you can take a look at Ancestry Library Edition, a huge database of over 5 billion names and over 7000 available databases. Unlock your story with sources like vital records, immigration records, family histories, military records, court & legal documents, directories, photos, maps and more!

Available at home and in-library is HeritageQuest, which complements Ancestry Library Edition with federal census data, family & local history books, tax lists, city directories, probate records and more.

Don't forget, we also have current and historical newspaper resources as well - including the Los Angeles Times (1881 to present), the Ventura County Star (1997 to present), the New York Times (1980 to present). And, ProQuest Digital Microfilm for Los Angeles Times and New York Times full page obituaries (2008 to present).
