Date:

Foster Library - Alan Salazar of the Chumash Maritime Association will share the story of the Chumash Tomol. The Chumash, originally based on the Santa Barbara coast and Channel Islands, used plank canoes called tomols for fishing and traveling between villages on the Pacific coast. The tomol was perhaps one of the most important tools in use by the Chumash.
