Effective January 1, 2011
Camarillo Library is no longer a Ventura County Library

 The new Camarillo Public Library website

 Transition to a City Municipal Library

• The Camarillo City Council voted to become an independent City Municipal Library, effective January 1, 2011. 
• Your Ventura County Library card will continue to be active at twelve Ventura County Libraries - it does not expire. 

Your new Ventura County Library "home" library

• If you had not selected a new "home" library, in mid-December, Ray D. Prueter Library in Port Hueneme was assigned as your Ventura County Library home library.
  • This change will assist us in supplying you with requested material provided through the Ventura County Library interlibrary loan service.
  •  Starting December 16, 2010, all requested material will be sent to your new Ventura County Library.
• We appreciate your patience and assistance during this transition.

Returning books and other items

• For best account maintenance, return Ventura County Library items to a Ventura County Library and Camarillo Library owned items to Camarillo Library.
  • Book ownership may be determined by checking inside the front of the book or the stamp across the top of the pages of a closed book
  • Library staff can assist you with any questions
• Beginning January 2011, you will need to obtain a Camarillo City Library card to check out items from the Camarillo Library
