- If a book you want is not available at your local library, it can be be ordered from other libraries.
- Telephone questions will be answered during open hours. Call (805) 388-5222.
- 60 computers are available for public Internet use. Computers are filtered for use by customers under 18. Printing is available by purchasing a print card.
- Word processing is available on the public Internet computers.
- Self-serve copy machines and microfilm reader/printers are available. Copies are ten cents each.
- Meeting Room Rental - A large community meeting room is available for rent. Click here for information.
- Adult Literacy Program - Camarillo Library is a site for the Adult Literacy Program. Students are matched with volunteer tutors who help them improve reading, writing and spelling skills. See the Adult Literacy Program Web site for more information.

Children's and Young Adult Programs

- Toddler and preschool storytimes are held Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 10 am in the Story Corner--see calendar for schedule.
- Family storytimes: every Tuesday at 7 pm in the pirate ship.
- PAWS For Reading; every Monday 3:30-4:40 pm, read aloud to registered therapy dogs; to sign up (required) or for information on the program, please call the Children's Information Desk at 805-388-5755.
- Book Buddies: volunteers from the Kiwanis Club of Camarillo and the community read with children Tuesdays and Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 pm.
- Esper A. Petersen Foundation Homework Center for students K-8 grades is open Monday through Wednesday, 3 pm to 5 pm and Thursday, 2 pm to 5 pm, when school is in session.
- Special Saturdays: Family programs in the Community Room at 10am. April 10--Jumbo Shrimp Circus;
- Camarillo Teen Writer's Fantasy/Science Fiction Club meets every Wednesday, from 4:30-6:30 pm.
Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to come to share their work. Positive feedback will help writers fine tune their stories or poems. We meet at the couches in the foyer of the library, then move to the library's Conference Room. - The Camarillo Teen Advisory Board meets the first Tuesday of each month during the school year from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the library's Community Room. Teens, ages 12-18, plan and sponsor teen events at the library. Teens receive community service hours participating in this program. Light refreshments are served.
- Art displays in the Children's Room: The Camarillo Art Center; the Visual Arts Studios; and Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School.

Drop in Computer Help - Wednesdays 2-3 pm - 2nd floor Technology Room - assistance with basic questions on computer use. No sign-up required.

Computer Training Lab Classes - Student/Adult Online Library Research. Call or stop by the Children’s Desk (805) 388-5755 or Reference Desk (805) 388-5811 for dates, times and pre-registration.

The Camarillo Library is a site for the Adult Literacy Program. Students who are at least 18 years old and who speak English, are matched with volunteer tutors who help them improve reading, writing and spelling skills. Deborah Fox, the on-site supervisor, is usually available Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7 p.m. She can be phoned at (805) 383-5689.
Book Clubs
- Camarillo Library Book Club - meets in the Library Conference Room on the second Tuesday morning of each month (except December) at 11 am.
- Camarillo Library Evening Book Club - meets in the Library Conference Room on the fourth Thursday of each month (except December) at 7 pm.

- Volunteer tutors are needed for the Adult Literacy Program. Students are tutored on-site at the Library.
- Friends of the Camarillo Library Bookstore is located adjacent to the Camarillo Library. It is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday: 10 am to 4 pm; Thursday: 10am to 7pm; closed Sundays . Their phone number is (805) 388-5275.
Collections
- There are over 150 magazines subscriptions available at the Library such as Consumer Reports, Value Line, National Geographic, and children's magazines.
- The Library has the Camarillo Daily News from 1926-1993, the Camarillo Star from 1994 to the present, and the Los Angeles Times from 1983 to the present.
- Camarillo Library has audio books, music on CDs, VHS videos, DVDs and educational CD-Roms.
- Materials in world languages include Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
- Large print books, Braille cassettes and DVS video films are available for those who are blind or have impaired vision.
