Ojai Library Presents Evergreen Recorder Consort

Sunday July 10th at 1pm the Evergreen Recorder Consort will perform Summer Breezes and Peanut Butter, a diverse selection of music that celebrates the unique qualities of the recorder.
Demonstrating the different sizes and varieties of their intruments while playing music from the Baroque and Renaissance periods, 20th and 21st centuries the Evergreen Recorder Consort will delight and educate.
Summer Reading Program is June 12 through August 13!

The Ventura County Libraries have TWO exciting Summer Reading Programs which will run from June 12 through August 13, 2011: "ONE WORLD, MANY STORIES” for grades K-6 and "YOU ARE HERE” for grades 6-12. Teens also may volunteer at their local library branch to help run the programs.
Mr. Nifty, balloon artist extraordinaire, is the featured performer at the kickoff program in each library branch. See our kickoff program schedule for a library near you and our Kids' & Teen Events Calendar for all events!
All aspects of the Summer Reading Program are open to youth of all ages and are free of charge! In addition, each branch library has planned storytimes, events, games, and demonstrations.
Major systems upgrade = 2 days of downtime (June 21 & 22)

Ventura County Library will be conducting a computer systems upgrade that will impact all online access and computer use at the Ventura County Libraries.
Starting early June 21 through June 22, 2011, all online services will be unavailable. This includes the online catalog, express checkouts, wireless and database access. All public internet labs will be closed.
Access to this website, www.vencolibrary.org will not be interrupted, but the online catalog and databases will be unavailable.
While online services will be interrupted, Ventura County Libraries will remain open and library staff will be available to assist during the downtime.
Ojai Library presents Cindy Kalmenson and the Lucky Ducks

Award winning singer/songwriter Cindy Kalmenson will perform with the Lucky Ducks at Ojai Library on Sunday June 5th at 1pm.
The title track of Cindy's debut CD Let Me Out Here was featured in the HBO series BIG LOVE in 2006. Her song I'm Not Leaving was nominated for song of the year and record of the year by the Los Angeles music awards.
Kalmenson is a musician with a gift for storytelling and phrasing. Come to Ojai Library the first Sunday in June and enjoy the music!

The Big X at Simi Valley Library, Saturday, May 14

Come to the Simi Valley Library on Saturday May 14 at 2pm and enjoy the musical stylings of Xavier Montes in the Library Community Room.
Xavier Montes, affectionately known as The Big X, for both his size and talents, is an accomplished harpist, guitarist and vocalist as well as an artist and educator. He will be presenting a variety of music including Mexican folk songs. His performance will be entertaining for the whole family.
This program is sponsored by the Simi Valley Friends of the Library.

Enjoy the 22nd Annual Trivia Challenge - Wednesday, April 27th at the Wedgewood Banquet Center 5880 Olivas Park Drive, in Ventura 93003. Snacks! An opportunity drawing! Only $5 admission for audience members.
Appetizers are served at 6pm and the Program begins at 6:30pm.
